Grief Support for Families

MISSION STATEMENT

HEALING HEARTS for Bereaved Parents is a self-help non-profit organization of bereaved parents dedicated to supporting and serving other bereaved parents and their families whose child(ren) have died no matter what the age, cause or circumstance of the death(s) by providing understanding, friendship and most of all hope.

We accomplish this through:

• Providing support in the form of one-on-one meetings or group sessions addressing topics of grief and loss & allowing a time of open sharing.
• Making resources available i.e. books, magazines and articles of issues of grief and loss.
• Publishing a newsletter monthly with information for the bereaved as well as articles remembering the families whose child's birthday or death anniversary occurs during a given month.
• Sending cards to families on the occasion of the birthday or death anniversary of their child.
• Providing a Candlelight service at Christmas for those who wish to honor their loved one(s) who have died.
• Making information and resources available on the Internet.
• Providing opportunities for families to connect via e-mail with others with similar loss circumstances in order that they may share their experiences and support each other.
• Continually lifting families up in prayer so that they may be strengthened during their grief journey.
